Access	Easiest access is via Symes Road off SH8 at Fruitlands. Follow this until it turns right, at the start of Nicholson's Track, or continue on north to the road end for the Obelisk Loop walk. Walking is also poassible on this section of Symes Road, or southwards to Hyde REoack, and then west on the 4WD track to Nevis Road.
Description	This is wild, open country of relatively low relief, so providses easy walking but often in an exposed and windswept environment. The 4WD tracks are rough and rutted and oftren wet and you need to watch out for mad-cap dsriverts in their utes. Th walking tracks are generally easy to follow, but Nicholsons Track involves a steepish climb. The views are great.
