Description |
The walk starts starts on the riverbed, and follows orange markers that direct either along or across the river, or onto its banks until it reaches the boundary of the reserve, where it turns sharp left and runs uphill for a short distance before descending into Isolated Creek. From there, it's another 15-20 minutes until you reach the spectacular Sawcut Gorge: up to 150 metres deep, but no more thasn 2 metres wide in places. Well worth the scramble! Beyond the gorge, for the more experience3d tramper, the trail continues for another hour or so as a marked route on the riverbed to Isolation Hut. and beyond that, further still up to Ben More. |
