Accessible from either end. In west, drive to river bridge north of Brightwater and park on northern side. Walk proceeds along northern bank of river. In east, take sharp right turn on unnamed road immediately north of Appleby bridge on SH60, and park in car park at the end. The walk starts off under the bridge.
A lovely and lengthy walk along the stopbank beside the Waimea River, giving great views of the Tasman Ranges. A loop walk is also available via the gravel track leading to the fish-out ponds.
