Description |
You drive a long way, through dog-unfriendly country, to get to Mount Stokes, and when you get there you've still a lot of work to do. It's a steady climb for 3 km or more, with something like a 700 metre rise to the summit at 1200 metres above sea level. But as you reach the summit, the bush falls away and ytou step out onto a flat and open area from which the views are magnificent. Going down is a doddle compared to the trip up. Even so, allow 4-5 hours for the return trip. |
