Description |
This generally easy walk starts near to the Brooklyn wind turbine, and passes through regenerating bush in Pohill Reserve, then on to Hawkins Hill and the connection with Red Rocks Track.. A plethora or tracks are there for you to choose: walkways and shared cycles ways in abundance. Some are more direct than others, but all lead you up to the edge of the reserve where it meets the predator fence to the adjacent wildlife reserve, and Hawkins Hill Road comes in. Loosely following both, you continue to climb, keeping just below the rudgeline, until you meet Red Rocks Track, just below the summit of Hawkins Hill. From there you can either return by one or other of the tracks that have accompanied you this far, or continue on, down to the rocky coast. Whichever route you choose you're gauranteed some great views across the city, and will no doubt be entertained by the teasing songs of the birds from their sanctuary beyond the fence. |
